Motorist Recommends: 5 COE Renewed Cars With Over 6 Years Remaining

Certificate Of Entitlement. These three words are unique to Singapore’s automotive market and add a whole new dimension when selling or buying cars.
With the rising cost of COE, you might be in the market for a cheaper used car. If you want just that, look no further than COE renewed cars as they are significantly cheaper to buy than their PARF counterparts.
With lower depreciation costs and repayments, COE cars dramatically lower the barrier of entry into car ownership. This lower cost means a better chance at building a pool of money for a rainy day.
With that said, here are 5 COE renewed cars with more than 6 years left on their COE.
Toyota Lexus GS300 - 8 Years 6 months

Although not as famed as its predecessor, this third-generation Toyota Lexus GS300 still manages to impart some nostalgia to those that owned the car back in the mid-2000s.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 3-litre naturally aspirated V6 making a hearty 245hp. This engine is then mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, a 9km/L fuel consumption rating isn’t the best for a luxury saloon.
This being a 2010 car, you would expect the interior to be dated. But this isn’t the case for this car, as it retains its original touch screen infotainment system. That’s not all, it still has ventilated front seats and electric memory seats.
The only thing that is dated though would be the steering wheel and some of the interior panels. Especially the dashboard.
The interior is pretty spacious. However, only 280L of boot space is available which is just enough for a grocery run.
Honda Fit 1.3G - 6 Years 5 months

Honda's Fit and Jazz are commonly mistaken for each other. We don't blame you, they are basically the same car marketed to different markets. And, these models are ubiquitous around Singapore.
Although its 1.3-litre inline-four engine produces a mere 99hp with a CVT, it makes up for the lack of power with fuel efficiency at a respectable 14km/L.
The interior still is inviting, albeit not as luxurious as the aforementioned GS300. Faux leather seats, a leather steering wheel cover as well as an abundance of cup holders would make your ride comfortable enough.
Additionally, we’re happy to note that this car can haul big items with a boot space of 603L with the seats down. And with the addition of a sunroof, it makes the slightly small cabin seem bigger and adds more light to the interior.
BMW 740Li - 7 Years

This car ranges in the middle of all BMW models. It isn’t as expensive or luxurious as its M variants. But it also isn’t as cheap as bottom-of-the-barrel BMW cars.
Its twin-turbocharged 3-litre inline-6 engine produces 321hp with 8-speed automatic transmission. However as is always the case with powerful cars, you only get 9km/L in terms of fuel economy.
Open the passenger side door, however, and you are greeted with a luxurious wood and peach coloured interior. The leather seats make for a more comfortable experience and the factory sunroof lets light permeate through the interior.
If you’re talking about practicality, you get pretty decent boot space for a saloon at 515 litres. Furthermore, you get an abundance of cup holders, a large infotainment screen and a multi-function steering wheel for maximum convenience.
Audi A4 - 9 Years

The A4 is a car that best represents Audi. A safe family saloon that has all the amenities and space that you need while still having a slightly sporty touch.
Audi’s signature 1.8-litre turbocharged TFSi engine produces 158hp on an 8-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharger could give the driving experience a little more fun. However, it’s quite standard in terms of fuel efficiency at 11km/L.
You get what you expect from an Audi in terms of the interior. The mostly black interior offers 5 leather seats with decent legroom. Head over to the dashboard and you’ll immediately notice a large touch screen coupled with a big multi-function leather steering wheel.
Opening the boot reveals a spacious boot measuring 490 litres, though you do have to take note of the significant boot lip.
Subaru Impreza- 6 Years 9 months

If you want a family car that an enthusiast can enjoy, this car is perfect. The Impreza has all the perks of its rally history as well as the practicality and reliability that Subaru is well-known for.
Although not as raw as the turbocharged WRX STi variant, this Impreza comes with the famed 2-litre naturally-aspirated EJ20 flat-four engine with a five-speed automatic transmission. The engine is good for a hearty 147hp. But even amongst other Subarus, 9km/L might be the new benchmark for bad fuel efficiency.
Still, the interior is comfortable for 2008 standards. For the family, the fabric seats offer enough legroom and space to fit five people. An aftermarket Pioneer infotainment system has been added which supports Apple CarPlay.
The already gargantuan boot space of 543L extends to a whopping 1,245L! That's massive for a hatchback.
Old Car Smell
Although these cars have been on Singapore’s roads for more than 10-odd years, it’s still a good investment as the brunt of depreciation has already been served within the first three years of the car’s life.
Although the “new car smell” is absent, buying COE cars is more often than not the cheaper option. If you fancy grabbing any of these cars for yourself, head down to our used cars directory!
