Motorist Cars of the Year - The Best Cars of 2021 in Singapore
Through strict internal judging rubrics, we've whittled our way down to the cars as featured in this list! Our judgement criteria include all the factors one would look out for when purchasing a vehicle.
Generally, these metrics include things like speed, power, interior & boot space and fuel economy. For each category, the cars are ranked against each other, with the highest scoring car scoring full marks. The data is then normalised to take into account the price differential between each vehicle.
We also have our Editor's Pick. These are cars that may not necessarily score the highest statistically, but may present critical and thoughtful user experience designs that make them hard to ignore!

mReview: 2021 MINI Cooper S Convertible - Big In Personality
As its name may suggest, MINI has long been a brand synonymous with the small size of its offerings. However, as cars have gotten bigger and bigger over the years, so too has the MINIs.
The MINI has, therefore, become no longer very 'mini'. The good news is though, that its physical size increases, so too has its personality.
This is very apparent, especially in the MINI Cooper S Convertible.
mReview: 2021 MG5 EV - Electric, Affordable AND Practical
There seem to be two schools of thought when it comes to designing and engineering modern electric vehicles. There are EVs that are outwardly electric, whereas there are others, like the MG5 EV, which are sound cars first and EVs second.
Cars in the former make it a point to consistently remind you that they are on the fashionable side of the moral and ethics spectrum. This may come at a detriment to other factors that make a car...well, a car.
Then there are automakers, like MG, which prefer a more subdued approach to electrification. They make cars that work well as vehicles. These cars feel just like what you've come to expect from a modern vehicle - it just so happens that it packs an electric motor.
