Honda has opted to couple their 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery, delivering a maximum power output of a hearty 130hp in their e:HEV model. Only on this system will the car allow the user to toggle between Sport, Normal and Economy driving modes, with each setting offering a different set of driving characteristics.
A non-hybrid variant is also available, in the form of the DX trim. It features the same 1.5L inline-four, but makes 117hp and 142Nm of torque in comparison.
Regardless of the your preferred model, the HR-V promises excellent fuel economy, with the DX achieving a quoted 17km/l, and the e:HEV version doing a stout 23km/l!

In keeping with the times, the new HR-V comes with a striking and unique SUV-Coupe-like styling.
This revamped design embodies Honda’s clean and modern design philosophy, expertly following concepts of function and beauty. It has also become more minimalist, straying away from the many curves and edges of the older generations.

The new car sports an EV-lite grille, which enhances the sense of unity with the car. The side profile has been made sleeker, despite the car riding higher off the ground.
Next-gen Interior

As with previous Honda interiors, the HR-V aims to serve the needs of drivers and passengers under the “Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum” concept. Put it simply, their engineers have cleverly packaged all the mechanical components to maximise the interior experience.
And it has paid off - the HR-V retains its class-leading interior space. But the perks of this approach doesn't stop there. Ventilation has been improved too, with its unique “Air Diffusion System”. This system sees a stream of air subtly directed along the front doors and towards the roof to simulate the feeling of natural wind.

The seats use contemporary fabric, with front-seat occupants further benefitting from anti-fatigue body stabilisers. Rear legroom has been increased by a total of 35mm over the outgoing car to make for a more comfortable journey.
Occupants in the back can also enjoy amenities such as cupholders, USB ports and storage. If it's carrying capacity you are worried about, their centre tank ULTRA seat configuration allows for maximum interior storage.
A nine-inch touchscreen comes as standard in the car, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, drivers have access to a seven-inch TFT displaying the gauge cluster and the driving modes.
Safety for Everyone

The car also comes with Honda Sensing, the Japanese automaker's native suite of nifty safety features. This system uses a mix of different tools to constantly monitor the car's surroundings and to regulate its speed.
A state-of-the-art wide-angle camera and hill-descent control are just some of the equipment it has on hand to deal with what the traffic and terrain can throw at it.
For a peace of mind, you'll get an exclusive five-year unlimited mileage and battery warranty from Kah Motor.
