In light of increasing peak hour congestion, ERP rates will be raised by $1 at several expressway locations to better manage peak hour traffic, with the increase coming into effect on 1 August.

In its announcement, the LTA stated that there has been a built up of traffic on various stretches of expressways since COVID-19 community and workplace measures have been further eased.

ERP rates will be increased at four locations. These will be AYE after Jurong Town Hall Road (set of three gantries), Southbound CTE after Braddell Road and PIE sliproad into Southbound CTE (set of four gantries), KPE (ECP) after Defu Flyover, and Northbound CTE after PIE (set of two gantries). Further information is listed below.

LTA states that there is no increase in the total number of timeslots or locations charged with ERP for this current review, and that rates for previously announced timeslots and gantries remained unchanged. It also included that the overall number of locations and timeslots charged, even after the review, is still much lower than what is was pre-COVID-19.

LTA will continually monitor traffic and congestion situations to determine if ERP rates are to be adjusted again in the future.
