Volkswagen Adds Facelifted Arteon Grand Tourer To Local Line-Up

Are you in the market for a large saloon, but are the current options just not cutting it? Well, Volkswagen may have a solution with the latest iteration of their Arteon fastback!

The updated car still preserves all the traits that made the pre-facelift car great in the first place, but with the added refinement that a facelift brings about. Its fastback silhouette and generous interior space combines head-turning design with high functionality and modern technologies.

As part of the refresh, the new car is characterised by an “expressive” and “avant-garde” design. Two variants will be made available here - Elegance and R-Line. The former offer what Volkswagen dubs as an “emphatically sophisticated configuration”, whereas the R-Line variant focuses on dynamics.Several distinctive features set the duo apart, such as a front end with a new continuous light strip that connects the front headlights in the R Line. Both cars sport striking chrome bars, and new air intakes at the bottom. The radiator grille and the long, wide bonnet are combined as a formal unit and make it stand out as the face in the crowd.

Athleticism is evident in the roofline of the vehicle; the roof and window contours are swept down in parallel from the B-pillars and therefore become part of the coupé-shaped rear. All elements together form the sporty rear profile typical for a stylish fastback, which are then complemented by 19-inch (Elegance) and 20-inch (R-Line) alloy wheels.On the inside, a new cockpit environment in the interior lends the new Arteon an even greater air of exclusivity. This newly designed cockpit now has touch sliders for the automatic air conditioner, and a new multifunction steering wheel with touch controls. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has also been added on the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system in the Arteon R-Line.

Propulsion is provided by a 190 PS 2.0-litre turbo four banger. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG), with the combo good to propel the car to 100km/h from a standstill in 7.9 seconds. DCC adaptive chassis control including driving profile selection is available on the Arteon R-Line and can be adjusted using the touchscreen in the cockpit.You can now buy your Volkswagen Arteon from Volkswagen Centre Singapore.
