Malaysia Automated Clearance System (MACS) Pass Applications Suspended Until Further Notice

If you were planning to apply for the Malaysia Automated Clearance System (MACS) Pass, tough luck. Applications for the pass been suspended until further notice.
Announced by Third Link, the company that operates the MACS and Malaysia Visa application in Singapore, it said that the Immigration Department of Malaysia had instructed the suspension of MACS Pass applications until further notice.
No official reason was given on why the MACS Pass was suspended. However, several forum and Facebook users have reported that the MACS Pass lanes at Malaysian Customs have been down for some time.
For those unaware, the MACS Pass allows Singaporean motorists and travellers to use a fast track clearance lane to speed up immigration processing time at Customs. It is said to reduce waiting time by 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
With MACS Pass now gone, motorists travelling to JB will need to better plan their trip in order to avoid jams at customs.
