Foodpanda Riders Can Now Lease Battery-Swappable Electric Motorbikes

Cycle and Carriage and Gogoro has entered a partnership with foodpanda to provide infrastructure to support smart electric two-wheeled vehicles for last mile deliveries in Singapore.

This announcement is a further development of the battery swapping sandbox pilot programme which LTA awarded to C&C and Gogoro. Gogoro’s Smartscooters have battery packs that can be swapped in just six seconds - ideal for last-mile deliveries without having to endure lengthy downtimes.

Insights from the trial will be used to guide next steps to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility as Singapore moves towards a transportation system using cleaner and more sustainable energy.Gogoro battery swapping and Smartscooters offer six-second battery swapping that is safe, reliable, and always available. Tethered electric charging on the other hand, requires dedicated parking and charge time that reduces rider availability and income.

The pilot entails C&C leasing Gogoro 2 Series Smartscooters to foodpanda riders. The Gogoro 2, which has an estimated range of up to 100km, is optimised for a smoother and more premium urban riding experience which seamlessly integrates with Gogoro battery swapping.Powering the scooter is Gogoro’s G2 motor. It is hyper-efficient, water-cooled and delivers power and performance good for a top speed of 90km/h. Two battery swapping stations are currently available, located at C&C’s Service Centres at Alexandra and Ubi.

With a strong delivery fleet of thousands of riders, foodpanda recognises the key role it plays in furthering the sustainability agenda in the delivery industry through the introduction of feasible, practical ways for their riders to choose eco-friendly options.

This multi-industry collaboration between C&C, Gogoro and foodpanda reflects the potential that can be unlocked in pushing forward the adoption of greener transportation alternatives as Singapore continues to pursue a greener and more sustainable future in urban mobility.
