The iconic G-Wagen from the Three-Pointed Star brand has always been highly revered among enthusiasts and military folks the world over.

Apart from superior off-roading capabilities, it has proven to be practically bulletproof, surviving in the harshest of conditions without faltering.

This year, Mercedes-Benz is seeking to attract some of the wealthiest Benz owners with this special one-off edition of the G 63, and it's more than just a special paint finish.

This G 63 Singapore Edition is part of the launch of the newly formed Mercedes-Benz Collectors' Club, an invite-only group that lets the brand's most affluent car owners get first dibs on one-off editions (such as this) and other bespoke customisation options.

Visually, this special G-Wagen stands out from the crowd with an eye-popping matte copper orange magno paint finish, which was meant to emulate the terracotta roof tiles found in local shophouses of yesteryear. It wears Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres with delightfully retro 22-inch AMG "Monoblock" wheels with a matte black finish.

Other accents found around the vehicle are finished in night black mango paint, which add to the utilitarian vibe of the G 63. A special engraved plaque is mounted on its tailgate, with artwork of Singapore's architecture and other details that denotes its special 1-of-1 status.

The G 63 Singapore Edition also features other luxurious touches, such as cherry wood flooring in the boot, and white-and-black contrasting Nappa leather upholstery, courtesy of the Mercedes-Benz MANUFAKTUR individualisation programme.

Over at the front, the front passenger grab handle has MANUFAKTUR stamped on it, plus an IWC clock mounted on the dashboard.

Mechanically, the G 63 Singapore Edition still retains the same twin-turbo V8 that's found in the bog-standard G 63, and is just as capable off-road.

At the event, watch manufacturer IWC Shaffhausen also unveiled their Big Pilot AMG G 63, a special edition timepiece with design cues from the Benz SUV. Just like the vehicle, its leather strap is finished with a terracotta-orange shade, contrasting against the 18k gold case.

The dial itself features two sub-dials – a power reserve indicator at 3 o'clock, and a small seconds dial at 9 o'clock. It features thick bezels to emulate the G-Wagen's iconic circular headlights.

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Singapore Edition is priced at just above $1.2 million dollars, while the IWC Big Pilot AMG G 63 goes for just north of $50,000.
