Mercedes-Benz Singapore launches the all-new and all-electric EQE SUV
Mercedes-Benz Singapore launches the all-new EQE SUV, the latest in their portfolio of fully electric vehicles.
At a private viewing at the brand-new Singapore Edition hotel, Mercedes-Benz Singapore showed off their newest all-electric offering to members of the media. The EQE SUV is the multi-purpose variant of the EQE Saloon and carries over some of the innovations found in the EQS and EQS SUV.
This latest model is actually nine centimetres shorter than the existing EQE Saloon due to a shorter wheelbase. The rest of the design is business as usual for Mercedes-EQ models with their rounded, aerodynamically efficient surfaces and distinct lighting arrays. This aerodynamic design gives the EQE SUV a drag coefficient of just 0.25.
The EQE SUV will be available in two trims, the EQE 300 Electric Art which is now available and the EQE 350+ AMG Line which will be available soon. The EQE 300 sports an 89kWh battery making 180kW (245hp) and 550Nm of torque through a motor on the rear axle. Mercedes-Benz claims a 0-100km/h time of 7.6s and a top speed of 210km/h. They also claim the EQE SUV is good for up to 565km on a full charge. Final specs for the EQE SUV 350+ AMG Line are not yet available but it will carry a larger battery for increased range and power output as compared to the EQE 300. Both models are able to fast-charge at up to 170kW on a DC charger and 22kW on an AC charger.
Mercedes-Benz have ensured the EQE SUV is yet another tech-fest, offering most of the usual goodies that Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-EQ cars are loaded with. The Driving Assistance Plus Package comes as standard, which means all cars will get adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and evasive steering assist just to name a few.
The EQE SUV also features rear-wheel steering as standard, with the rear wheels able to turn up to 10 degrees to aid either manoeuvrability or high-speed stability. The system helps reduce the turning circle from 12.3 to 10.5 metres, giving it the in-town capabilities of a much smaller car.
The EQE SUV is also available with the optional AIRMATIC air suspension that features adaptive dampers to further increase the vehicle’s handling capabilities and ride quality. The AIRMATIC system also enables the EQE SUV to raise its ride height by up to 30 millimetres for additional ground clearance.
On the interior, the EQE SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital display for the driver with a 17.7-inch touchscreen central display for the infotainment system. Mercedes-Benz’s Hyperscreen is also available as an optional extra and would add an additional 12.3-inch display for the passenger.
The EQE SUV also features a premium Burmester sound system that has Dolby Atmos integration for incredible sound quality as well as ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL Plus, a built-in system that uses a HEPA filter to manage the air quality inside the car.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 300 Electric Art is available now in Singapore from S$430,888 with COE and you can check it out at the Mercedes-Benz showroom from today.
