Zeekr has officially launched in Singapore with its first model, the Zeekr X, now available for test drives and orders.

A new player has entered the arena in the form of Zeekr, a new brand under the umbrella of Chinese automaking giant, Geely Group. We first explored the Zeekr brand earlier this year when they flew us out to Hangzhou, China to check out their factories and give us an exclusive sneak preview of the cars they’d be bringing to Singapore.

Of the two cars we tested in Hangzhou, only the Zeekr X is available in Singapore at the moment while the Zeekr 009 MPV will be coming to Singapore later down the road. Zeekr will be sold in Singapore under Premium Automobiles, the authorised dealer for Audi as well as fellow Chinese EV brand, XPeng

The Zeekr X is positioned as a premium compact SUV specialising in city driving. Two variants of the X are available in Singapore, a rear-wheel drive Standard spec and an all-wheel drive Flagship.

Both variants have the same 66kWh battery and rear motor assembly. The Flagship variant adds on a motor for the front axle for a total combined output of 315kW (422hp) and 543Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds.

The rear-wheel drive Standard is no slouch either, 200kW (268hp) and 343Nm of torque still give it a 0-100km/h time of 5.6 seconds. Maximum claimed range for the Standard is 440km, dropping slightly to 420km for the Flagship. Both models are able to be recharged at 150kW on a DC fast charger while the Standard is only able to manage 7.2kW of AC charging compared to the Flagship’s 11kW.

The Zeekr X also proudly boasts its range of intelligent, digitised features like its AI voice assistant, Eva. Eva is supposedly able to control functions like navigation, climate, media playback, and even the windows. We saw this working well in Hangzhou when instructions were given in Chinese so we’ll have to see how well it works now that it’s been translated into English.

There are also several predefined convenience modes available on the Zeekr X. For example, Theatre Mode automatically adjusts the seats into an ideal position for listening to music, perfect for when you’re waiting for the car to charge. There’s also a Pet Mode which keeps the air conditioning on at a comfortable temperature and displays a message on the screen to inform passers-by that the pet inside is comfortable and safe.

The Zeekr X is now available for test drives and purchase at the Zeekr Experience Centre, located at 9 Leng Kee Road. Prices for the Standard start at S$199,999 including COE and S$214,999 including COE for the Flagship.
