• Two buckets
• Car wash soap (not dish-washer soap!)
• Wash mitt or sponge
• Grit guard (optional, but recommended)
• Hose with nozzle
• Microfibre towels

• Tyre shine (optional)

Pick the perfect place

Sunlight can be harsh on soapy surfaces, so park your car in a cool, shaded area. This will help prevent the soap from drying too quickly and leaving streaks on the paintwork.

Pre-rinse preparation

Before lathering up with soap, give your car a thorough rinse with clean water. This removes loose dirt and debris that could scratch the bodywork during washing.

Conquer the wheels

Wheels tend to be the grimiest part of your car. Use a separate wash mitt or brush specifically for your wheels to avoid transferring dirt to the car's body. Apply car wash soap liberally and agitate the wheels to remove brake dust and grime. Rinse thoroughly.

Wash like a pro

Rinse and repeat

Drying - do's and don'ts
