PUB launches first-ever flood resilience campaign in collaboration with Motorist
Singapore’s National Water Agency PUB has launched its inaugural flood resilience campaign in collaboration with Motorist to encourage the public to be flood ready.
The campaign uses a film and a series of key visuals to help the public learn more about flood preparedness. PUB's campaign also focuses on the mnemonic “FLASH” which stands for:
Follow PUB Flood Alerts
Learn how to be flood ready
Avoid flooded areas
Share PUB flood updates
Help others where possible
PUB is also collaborating with various industry partners such as Motorist, CDG Zig, and Grab to share flood safety tips with their users and drivers.
For example, to expand the reach of its flood alerts, PUB is working with Grab to push out flood alerts to their drivers and delivery riders via the Grab app. These alerts will be rolled out by 2025.
Additionally, all drivers can collect a PUB “Flood-Wise Drive” car decal from 2 December at any Esso station. The decal contains useful flood tips and from 2 to 22 December, drivers spotted at Esso stations with the decal can stand to win grocery vouchers worth $100 each.
Members of the public are encouraged to stay updated on flood risks and locations of flash floods through PUB’s Telegram channel and the myENV mobile app. They can also visit go.gov.sg/be-flood-ready for further guidelines on how to be safe and prepared in the event of heavy rains and flash floods.
The public can also install the Motorist app for up-to-date information on flood warnings as well as other traffic updates.
