Temasek Polytechnic and K-Tech Auto Solution launch two new courses to drive talent development in the motor industry
Temasek Polytechnic and K-Tech Auto Solution have come together to launch two new courses to drive talent development in the motor industry.
To prepare for the upcoming transition to 100% cleaner energy vehicles by 2040, as laid out in the Singapore Green Plan 2030, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and K-Tech Auto Solution Pte Ltd (K-Tech Auto Solution), an Approved Training Centre for International Motor Industry (IMI) International Qualification, have joined forces to offer two new comprehensive courses.
These two new courses aim to upskill car workshop technicians with the knowledge needed as the motor industry shifts from internal combustion engines to a new form of maintenance required for hybrid and electric vehicles.
The first course, Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Technology and Maintenance, started its first intake on 24 November 2024 with 15 participants from the motor industry. During the course, the participants had direct hands-on experience dismantling a hybrid vehicle’s battery bank and conducting inspections on an electric vehicle.
The second course, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Features and Calibration, will begin its first intake on 22 December 2024, where participants can get hands-on experience in calibrating an LTA-registered vehicle with a full calibration set-up and generating pre and post-calibration reports.
Both courses are approved SkillsFuture Series courses with funding support for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. Participants who complete the courses will receive certificates with their new qualifications.
