Cycle & Carriage adds Peugeot to its multi-brand portfolio and will also bring Chinese EV brand Leapmotor to Singapore
Jardine Cycle & Carriage (C&C) secured the Peugeot franchise for Singapore with effect from 1 February 2025, six months after adding the French marque to its business in Malaysia.
Peugeot is the second French brand under automotive conglomerate Stellantis to be represented by C&C in Singapore, which has held the Citroen franchise here since 2006 and Citroen’s premium spinoff DS Automobiles since 2016. C&C takes over the Peugeot distributorship from Sime Darby, which has handled the brand for 24 years.
Factory warranty coverage and service packages for current (ex-Vantage) Peugeot owners are carried over to C&C, which will honour the existing aftersales agreements. However, other items issued by the previous Peugeot distributor to its customers, such as vouchers, service credits and warranty extensions, will not be fulfillled by C&C.
As of end-2024, there are almost 4,000 Peugeot cars on the road in Singapore and about 3,800 Citroen cars. Another Stellantis car brand, Opel, has just over 3,000 units on the road.
Joining Peugeot and Citroen under one C&C roof at 239 Alexandra Road is Leapmotor, the international Chinese EV joint venture led by Stellantis. Leapmotor is said to be the third largest new-energy vehicle startup in China, which is the centre of the EV universe right now.
When Leapmotor is launched in Singapore later this year, it will be the 10th passenger car brand in the C&C portfolio, which has Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Maxus, ORA, Kia and Mitsubishi.
The Peugeot, Citroen and Leapmotor showrooms will be together in the main C&C complex at 239 Alexandra Road.
