Motorist Car Group Kings compete in Race Night

The top 5 fastest drivers in the event, with Motorist CMO Jake in the middle.

The Motorist Car Group Kings were treated to an adrenalin rush at Funan's Topspeed e-racing arcade, challenging each other for the best time record.

In yet another move to engage the Motorist community, we invited our Car Group Kings, the leaders of the assorted car groups on our Motorist Super App, to a friendly competition in Funan mall's Topspeed. They e-raced on Malaysia's Sepang circuit as part of our most recent Motorist community event on 24 April 2025.

The Car Group Kings participated in tight races against one another, competing to set the fastest lap time in the virtual Sepang racetrack. The enthusiastic drivers used identical high-speed sim rigs, with a choice of manual or automatic gearshifting. 

Why not Marina Bay Street Circuit? We felt that the circuit and use of F1 cars may have been too unfriendly for casual use, instead opting for Sepang, located up north. We picked the Mazda MX-5 Cup as the track-ready car of choice, with a name that also starts with the letter M - like Motorist.

The night's 3rd fastest Sepang lap was set by John Lin (who didn't pilot a Yamaha despite his shirt), with a time of 2 minutes & 46 seconds.

The 2nd fastest lap was set by Joel (right), with a time of 2 minutes & 45 seconds.

Bernard Ng was the fastest driver in the event, clocking a best lap time of 2 minutes & 44 seconds while enjoying the nimble MX-5 Cup.

All the attendees and Motorist crew enjoyed the e-race event, pizzas and petrolhead chats.

The Car Group Kings are the most active members of their respective group chats that correspond to their vehicle’s make and model. Car Groups can submit a request form to Motorist for up to $5,000 in funding for group activities like breakfast drives, cohesion events or even group T-shirts.
