The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) has launched Fuel Kaki, a website for motorists to compare fuel prices and promotions across different fuel retailers.
With fuel prices constantly on the rise, many car owners will often compare fuel prices across different retailers to find the best deals and promotions. Although it may be a cumbersome task to some, it does help lessen the pinch on their wallets.
To help Singapore motorists seek out the cheapest and best deals, CASE has launched a new petrol price comparison website called Fuel Kaki, which is also supported by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS).
Through Fuel Kaki, users will be able to compare fuel prices for different petrol grades across various retailers, such as Caltex, Esso, SPC, Shell, and Sinopec.
Besides price comparison, users will also be able to view ongoing loyalty programmes and promotions offered by fuel retailers, including credit card and bank promotions.
For drivers who wish to know exactly how much they'll be paying, Fuel Kaki will even provide the effective price per litre, after factoring in available discounts.
According to a press release, Fuel Kaki was developed to “improve the transparency of the effective retail petrol prices that consumers pay”. The website would also help customers make “better informed purchasing decisions and encourage greater competition amongst the petrol retailers in Singapore”.
“Fuel makes up a significant portion of a motorist’s monthly expenses,” explained Mr Melvin Yong, Vice-President, CASE, and Chairperson, CASE’s Consumer Empowerment Taskforce. “With so many different credit card discounts and promotions, it can be challenging for motorists to make effective comparison.”
Mr Yong added, “Fuel Kaki aims to provide motorists with timely information on pump prices and promotions for easy comparison, thus helping motorists to stretch their dollar when they refuel.”
Fuel Kaki can be accessed via desktop and mobile. Built to be responsive, it allows motorists to access it anytime, even while they are on-the-go. Check it out here.
