With less vehicles on the road due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has decided to suspend Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) at most locations from 6 April 2020.
According to a press release from LTA, this review was brought forward due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, which saw a drop in traffic volume in many parts of Singapore.
It was announced that 96% of ERP gantries islandwide will have their rates reduced.
Furthermore, gantries along expressways and arterial roads will also have reduced charges of up to S$2, some of which may even have zero charges.
Lastly, all vehicles will not be charged when entering the Orchard, Bugis-Marina Centre, and Shenton Way-Chinatown cordons, for all days of the week.

Although ERP has been suspended, LTA stated that the reductions are not a sign for people to go out and travel more, and that they should still defer all non-essential travel during this uncertain period.
The agency will also continue to “monitor the situation closely”, and will considering making revisions in the future if required.
