​LTA Suspends COE Bidding Exercises for April 2020

The two COE bidding exercises for April 2020 will be suspended as part of the new elevated safe distancing measures.

LTA announced this suspension as motor vehicle dealerships and showrooms will be closed with effect from 7 April to 4 May 2020.

There was no announcement if the COE bidding exercises for May 2020 will be postponed. LTA said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and update on subsequent bidding exercises.

In the meantime, dealers may use their existing stock of Temporary COEs (TCOEs) to register new vehicles.

Industry watchers have been speculating the cessation of motor-related transactions since the announcements of the Circuit Breaker measures on Friday.
