The newly-launched E-Class may only be considered as just a facelift. But with significant changes to the exterior and interior, this is a car worth looking out for!

Mercedes Singapore has officially launched the 2021 E-Class, offering only one powertrain option with three trim variants to choose from. Here’s what you need to know about the new 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class:

The 2021 E-Class Facelift comes with the E200 as the sole option. This powertrain consists of a 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-4 giving an output of 194hp and 320nm.

The power is sent to the rear wheels through a 9G-Tronic transmission (that's Mercedes-speak for a nine-speed auto), enabling the car to complete the century sprint in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 240km/h.

Mercedes has given the facelifted E-Class a markedly different front and rear design, making it look more like a shrunken new S-Class

LED headlights now come standard across the range, with MULTIBEAM adaptive headlights available as an option.

There are three trims available to suit your tastes. Avantgarde provides a more dynamic look, while the Exclusive carries a traditional Mercedes design with a bonnet emblem. An AMG Line is also available with lowered suspension and a more aggressive bumper design.

Interior and Features

On the inside, Mercedes has given the 2021 E-Class a good sprucing up by replacing the COMAND system with the up-to-date MBUX infotainment system with a pair of 12.3" high-resolution screens that we first tested on the GLB.

A brand-new steering wheel is also present, featuring spokes that sink inwards to a bulbous airbag/horn assembly bearing a large Mercedes crest. It now also has capacitive touch control functions rather than optical touch. Basically, touch surfaces are also now less susceptible to fingerprints. We really dig the new steering wheel design, to be totally honest.

With a significantly revised exterior, coupled with the introduction of the MBUX system and new steering wheel design, the 2021 E-Class looks more like a new model than a carry-over mid-life cycle facelift.

Prices start from S$271,888 for the Avantgarde, S$280,888 for the Exclusive, and S$290,888 for the AMG Line (all prices are inclusive of COE). The price of the Night Package was not available at time of writing.
