Alpine and Lotus have announced a technical collaboration to work together on joint engineering efforts, including the development of an electric supercar.
Both companies will now partake in a “comprehensive feasibility study” of such a venture by utilising the resources, expertise, and facilities available to both brands.
Alpine and Lotus are also exploring combining their engineering expertise, including a study leveraging Alpine’s motorsports portfolio in Formula E, Formula One, and endurance racing.
The Alpine brand has been revived by Groupe Renault as the performance arm of the French marque, incorporating what was previously Renaultsport under its wings as well.
They are also set to compete in the 2021 Formula 1 season after the Renault team was rebranded in favour of the Alpine name.
