The S$255,800 Lexus electric vehicle debuts in Singapore, alongside the KINTO SHARE car-sharing programme.

As Lexus' first electric vehicle (EV), engineers at Lexus sought to maintain the distinctive design and utility characteristics of the UX compact SUV, and marry that with performance advantages unique to EVs. Following the UX’s refined driving signature, the all-new UX 300e leverages on the new electric drive train to enhance and deliver a sense of unity with nature and an exhilarating driving experience that is unique to the EV.

Performance and Range

The UX 300e features a high output motor with a natural-yet-brisk acceleration character while high-capacity batteries located directly underneath the floor of the cabin deliver smooth handling, ride stability and responsiveness.

The UX 300e produces 201bhp of electric power, and 300Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels, carrying the UX 300e from 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds, on to a top speed of 160km/h.

The UX 300e is designed with a practical driving range of 300 km (WLTP), which translates to about five days of driving for a typical Singaporean driver for each full charge.

For engaging performance in Singapore’s stop-start traffic and navigating winding roads, the UX 300e’s deceleration can be controlled in four levels using the paddle shifters located behind the steering wheel, allowing the drivers to minimise use of mechanical brakes and heighten the level of energy recovery.

Features

The UX 300e boasts a 13-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and ventilated front seats.

Additionally, the EV also comes with Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+), which features Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (high speed only), Lane Departure Alert, and an Adaptive High-beam System.

Lexus has added insulation beyond just the battery to suppress outside noises, such as from wind or pebbles, which would be otherwise noticeable in the absence of an engine and transmission. Active Sound Control (ASC) transmits natural ambient sounds for better understanding of driving conditions, and provides a natural feeling for the occupants.
