Audi Unveils the All-New A3 in Singapore; Prices Start at S$166,140

The Audi A3 is back with a new design language, more assistance systems and even stronger in terms of efficiency and performance. It is now available at the Audi Centre Singapore.

Unveiled yesterday at its first Audi Experience session of the year, the new Audi A3 comes with upgraded premium features and a full-fledged connected ecosystem that stays true to its winning attributes that have won the hearts of Audi customers and fans around the world.

Available in both Sportback and Sedan body styles, it is the first time that both styles for the Audi A3 were introduced together.

Exterior

Equipped with compact dimensions and a sporty appearance, the new Audi A3 features a wide Singleframe with a honeycomb grille that dominates the front. It is flanked by eye-catching headlights, which accentuates its dynamic characteristics.

With the A3 Sportback, the body line running above the sill rises towards the rear lights before the rear wheel arch, thus accentuating the short rear end.

On the other hand, the Sedan's body line stretches all the way to the rear bumper, giving the flank a more elegant appearance.

Both body styles feature a panelled underbody, exterior mirrors with improved aerodynamic, and active brake cooling, all of which minimizes air resistance, resulting in a more streamlined car.

Interior

The A3 borrows design cues from the brand's larger models and comes standard with a 10.1-inch touch panel for its interior.

The 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus instrument cluster has three separate views and includes sporty graphics with inclined digits and a particularly dynamic layout.

The multifunctional steering wheel also provides easy access to the digital display's functions for the driver.

On request, a one-of-a-kind material made from recycled PET bottles can be used in place of the traditional leather upholstery in Singapore. Audi is offering this material for the first time, making it exclusive in the market.

According to Audi, up to 45 PET bottles are used per seating system, while additional 62 recycled PET bottles are recycled for the carpet. Moving forward, all seat upholstery in all model series will be made of recycled material.

Powertrain

The all-new Audi A3 is available in Singapore with a 1.5 TFSI engine producing 110 kW (150 hp).

The engine is powered by a 48-volt mild-hybrid device that impresses with its strong torque and sophisticated running characteristics.

For daily driving, the A3 saves up to 0.4 litres of petrol per 100 kilometres. The engine is also the first of its kind to be sold by Audi in Singapore.

The selector lever of the A3 is now a compact shifter that transmits power by the quick-shifting seven-speed S Tronic.

Suspension

The new A3's suspension, which features a four-link rear axle, is sporty and balanced, providing a fun ride with strong dynamics. The central dynamic handling mechanism ensures optimum interaction between all transverse dynamics-related components.

Like most recent Audi models, the A3 is connected to the users' smartphone via the myAudiapp on Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This lets 6 different users store their preferred settings in various profiles, allowing them to control the seat, climate and media.

In-car features of the all-new A3 also include a lane departure warning and park assist. The formers come as standard for the first time, while the latter assists users in locating and executing steering inputs for both parallel and perpendicular parking manoeuvres.

Sportback

As we mentioned, the all-new Audi A3 comes with a Sportsback body style as an option for the first time. The A3 Sportback provides more room and versatility while maintaining compact exterior dimensions.

The luxury compact car has expanded by just over three centimetres, measuring 4.34 meters in length and 1.82 meters in width without mirrors. The gesture-controlled opening feature, which was not available on the previous generation, is also available on the A3 Sedan.
