Kia Singapore has launched the updated Kia Stonic, which now comes with a cleaner engine variant added to the model lineup to provide better driving efficiency.

Stonic has attracted many Singaporean car buyers since it made its first debut at the Singapore Motorshow in January 2019. As a result, it has remained as the best-selling SUV amongst the extensive range of vehicles offered by Kia Singapore.

Kia has updated the Stonic lineup with a new 48V mild-hybrid EcoDynamics+ Powertrain system to provide a dynamic, fun and eco-friendly driving experience for drivers.

Kia has maintained its freshness by giving the Stonic stylish full-LED headlamps and 16-inch aluminium alloy wheels to keep the quirkiness of a small crossover. Besides, nine paint finishes are available for customers to give it a flashy touch, including two new exterior colours – Sporty Blue and Perennial Grey.

Simple and Spacious Interior

Step inside, the dashboard paired with the sporty multifunctional steering wheel take on modern-day design cues - blending sophistication with rustic simplicity.

The Stonic has a spacious interior and flexible space, just as a compact SUV should. Furthermore, cargo space can be expanded from 352 litres to a massive 1,155 litres, making this a car that is ready to “set your plans and dreams in motion.”

New Safety Features

As far as technology goes, Kia has updated the 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless capabilities, allowing users to pair their phone seamlessly.

Kia also introduces their latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to the Stonic M-Hybrid to allow a safer and more satisfying drive (only available on the SX trim).

Parking Distance Warning (PDW): A feature that warns the driver of any obstacles when manoeuvring into a parking space. The entry EX trim comes with rear PDW only, while the SX trim comes with both front and rear PDW.

Blind-spot Collision Warning (BCW): When changing lanes, the BCW system detects vehicles in the driver's blind spot and warns them with a warning symbol on the side mirrors, together with an audible alert.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW): The radar-based RCCW warns the driver if it detects cross traffic when reversing out of a parking spot or driveway.

Powertrain

The new Smartstream engine features a Drive Mode Select system, allowing drivers to toggle between 3 different settings – Eco, Sport and Normal. In Eco mode, periods of engine-off ‘sailing’ are maximised when the driver lifts his foot from the accelerator and lets the car coast without accelerating or braking.

Depending on the charge level of the 48V Mild Hybrid EcoDynamics+ Powertrain, the engine will seamlessly switch off while coasting. In addition, Kia says that it improves fuel efficiency at 4.7l/100km and reduced carbon dioxide emissions at 107g/km.

Variants Available
