The 911 range is finally welcoming 5 sporty GTS model variants to the Porsche family after the market introduction of the 992 a year and a half ago.

Porsche introduced the first GTS version of the 911 just 12 years ago. A new generation of the popular sports car model is being launched - more powerful and aesthetically distinctive, with better driving dynamics.

This time, the Porsche 911 will come in 5 model variants:

  • 911 Carrera GTS with rear-wheel drive, as Coupé and Cabriolet
  • 911 Carrera 4 GTS with all-wheel drive, as Coupé and Cabriolet
  • 911 Targa 4 GTS with all-wheel drive
  • Drivetrain

The new Porsche 911 GTS Coupé outperforms its predecessor by three-tenths of a second. With a three-litre turbocharged, six-cylinder boxer engine under the hood, it churns out a healthy 353 kW (480 PS) and maximum torque at 570 Nm.

It is capable of completing the century sprint in 3.3 seconds with the eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK).

As an alternative to the PDK, all 911 GTS models will be equipped with a seven-speed manual transmission; Porsche added that the short-throw shifter is now smoother and precise.

Its suspension, derived from the 911 Turbo, has been engineered for the GTS; it now meets the highest performance standards.

The dampers also respond to dynamic changes at lightning speed, thanks to the standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

Furthermore, Porsche promises drivers a much creamier exhaust soundtrack, thanks to its GTS-specific setup and the omission of some interior insulation.

    Exterior

The Sport Design package is standard on all 911 GTS models, and it includes unique trim for the front, rear, and side sills. The spoiler lip, centre-lock alloy wheels, engine cover louvres, and GTS script on the doors and rear of the car are all part of the allure.

The exterior package, which includes these and other details in high-gloss black, is available as an option. This includes the model-defining hoop and Targa lettering on the 911 Targa 4 GTS.

Porsche has also given it a rugged appearance, the headlight rims and daytime running light surrounds are darkened, and the car is fitted with standard LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus). In addition, the rear lights are unique to the GTS models.

The new Porsche 911 GTS models are designed to be more powerful and sporty. The optional seven-speed manual transmission's gear lever has been shortened by 10 mm, allowing for quick gear shifts with a flick of the wrist.

Standard equipment includes a GT Sport steering wheel as well as Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app, and tyre temperature display.

Several Race-Tex features contributed to the elegant and dynamic atmosphere. The microfibre materials are used for the central sections of the seats, steering wheel rim, door handles and armrests, storage compartment lid, and gear lever.

The decorative stitches for the GTS interior package are available in Carmine Red or Crayon as an option. In addition, the GTS lettering on the headrests, rev counter, and Sport Chrono clock are all embroidered in the same contrasting colours as the seatbelts. The GTS interior package also includes matt carbon decorative inserts on the dashboard and door trim.

The Lightweight Design package will be available for the first time on the new Porsche 911 GTS. The lighter carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) full bucket seats, lightweight glass for the side and rear windows, and a lightweight battery help shave off 25kg in weight.

    Features

The new generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) has a host of new features and is now much easier to use. For example, the touch areas in the Media menu have been increased in size, and the option to rearrange the tiles on the homescreen has been added too.

Users can also navigate the PCM via an improved voice assistant by saying, "Hey Porsche!" It has been cleverly enhanced to recognize natural speech.

Additionally, all Porsche 911 GTS models offer both Apple Carplay and Android Auto for a better user experience.
