Hi Guruu! If your vehicle was previously registered for VEP under the former owner, it will need to be deregistered first. You can complete the deregistration here: https://vepams.jpj.gov.my/.

If you still encounter any issues after deregistering, kindly send a screenshot of the problem to [email protected], along with your NRIC and car plate number. The VEP team will assist you from there.

Step 1: Go to https://vepams.jpj.gov.my/ and click 'Request for Deregistration? Click Here' which located at the login page. The link will redirect to Deregistration Request screen.

Step 2: Please enter you email address and you will be receiving OTP to your registered email address for account verification. Kindly insert the given OTP to complete account verification process.

Step 3: To submit your deregistration request, please enter your Vehicle Registration Number and type of deregistration.(Please choose category 'I have purchased a secondhand vehicle')

Step 4: Next, in accordance with the deregistration type selected earlier, you will need to upload supporting documents.

Step 5: The system will notify if there is an active application for the said Vehicle Registration Number. To proceed with the deregistration process, please click continue.

Step 6: System will generate Reference Number upon submit the request. As a reminder, the reference number should be kept as a record for tracking a request's status in the future.

Step 7: You shall monitor the status by insert reference number to track status of deregistration request.

You may continue with your new VEP Tag application once the deregistration status is completed. In the event of rejection, the reason/remarks will be display. You shall need to re-submit the request.
