The motor dealers have given LTA feedback that their principals/vehicle manufacturers require at least a two-year lead time to comply with our new requirement. The lead time is necessary because the production schedule of vehicles meant for the Singapore market has been fixed for the next one to two years and it would not be possible to adjust the schedule to include the auto-levelling feature. LTA has taken this into consideration in its decision on the implementation date.
