The speed limit for light commercial vehicles (i.e. light goods vehicle (LGVs), and small buses with maximum laden weight not exceeding 3.5 tonnes and with seating capacity of up to 15 passengers) has been raised from 60km/h to 70km/h with effect from 7 March 2005. However, the following conditions will apply:
• LGVs will still be subject to the speed limit of 60km/h when carrying workers
• Only small buses fitted with seat belts would be permitted to travel up to 70km/h
